Type the network name and password, pick the security type, and the code appears. iPhone and Android cameras both read it and offer to join. Most home routers use WPA2 or WPA3, which is the first option in the list.
The password is stored inside the pattern in plain form, so anyone who scans it can join, which is the point. Make a separate guest network if you do not want visitors on your main one. This is a static code, so it never expires, but if you change the router password you need to make a new code.
How to do it
- Enter the network name exactly as it shows on your router, capitals included.
- Enter the password and choose the security type.
- Download the PNG, print it and put it where guests will see it.
Questions
Is my password sent to you?
No. The code is built in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
It will not connect. Why?
Nearly always a typo in the name or password, or the wrong security type. Check capitals and spaces.
