The trick is that the printed code never contains your real address. It holds a short link such as qrtally.omicron.ink/r/abc23xyz, and that link forwards to whatever page you set in your dashboard. Change the setting and every printed copy follows within a second.
This is the feature that matters most for things you cannot take back: packaging, posters, business cards, event badges, shop windows, vehicle wraps. If the code is going on paper, make it editable first.
How to do it
- Create a dynamic code with your first destination.
- Print it.
- Later, open the dashboard, change the target link and press Save changes.
Questions
Can I edit a free static code?
No. A static code stores the address inside the pattern, so changing it means a new pattern. Only dynamic codes are editable.
How fast does an edit apply?
Straight away. The redirect reads the target from the database on every scan, nothing is cached.
